Explore the Green Frontier at the 2011 Green Energy Summit


If you haven't already registered for the 2011 Green Energy Summit at the Frontier Airline Center in Milwaukee on March 9-11, there is still time.

This 3-day conference is open to the public and starts at 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. daily. Students can register for free.

Wednesday is Green Business Day presenting public officials, business leaders in green technology, published authors, and experts in academia. Join the “Green Business Leadership” Plenary session with CEO Will Allen, Growing Power, and CEO Tom Boldt, The Boldt Company, at 2 PM.

Thursday is Green Energy Day starting with "Risk, Innovation and International Cooperation". At 2 PM, Milwaukee Public Television will record Fourth Street Forum with host Denise Callaway. Panelists include Bill McKibben, Founder, 350.org; Naomi Oreskes, Professor of History and Social Science Studies, University of California; and George Stone, Chair, Green Energy Summit.

Friday is Green Career/ Pathway and Sustainability Day featuring "Good Jobs, Green Jobs". Thomas Llewellyn Wright will talk about “Living Green in a Frank Lloyd Wright House” at 10:15 AM.

Saturday offers Green Energy Summit’s half-day tour of Milwaukee Area Renewable Energy Demonstration Facilities leaving the parking lot at Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, or half-day /full-day workshops by MREA at MATC’s Oak Creek Campus.

You can find daily forums, symposiums, poster presentations and breakout sessions about bio-energy, water conservation, wind power, solar energy, sustainable development and green careers.
